Portraying yourself as someone with bad grammar and spelling shows a lack of education, and you can post all you want about your extensive education, but if you write sloppily, nothing you write will really matter. Avoid slang terms and shortened versions of words like "luv" and "u", which only serve to make text hard to read and the reader feel as if they're deciphering a coded message. It's important to make that first real contact early on in your dating relationship – speaking on the phone and planning to meet for your first date. Don't worry – there shouldn't be any pressure.
