A Singles Guide To Valentine's DayThe greeting card companies give a hard sell on the hoopla surrounding Valentine's Day. Do we have to have a date? Should we settle for anyone who walks through the door and bombard us with candy hearts just to say we have a Valentine? Absolutely not, but what do we do? Nothing. At least according to Diane Mapes. She points out that having somebody in our arm for the sake of it will not make us happy. So why go through that? (She seems to have experience in the bad-dating realm by the bucket load, so she should know.) We should make ourselves happy and worry about anyone else later on. To help keep our mind off the subject, consider treating ourselves to a movie, browse for our favorite authors at the bookstore or invite other single friends over for a night of fun activities. She goes on to say that we should try to focus on being true to ourselves and that we really don't need a date on Valentine's Day to feel important, loved or confident. If only more people realized that and were content to be single, maybe the world would be a happier place. She also discussed the kind of internal relationship we should try to nurture within us. If it is not secure, we will never find someone to date that makes us happy. We need to make us happy first. Then someone will come along that sees our happiness and will want to be a part of it, be in a relationship with us and make us even happier. So, if a relationship happens in time for Valentine's Day that's great. If not, don't let a number on a calendar page trip up our road to happiness. Keep happy and it will fall in place eventually because that's how love usually happens. Posted by eDatingCentral.com Feb 2, 2007 4:02 am Related Online Dating News Articles:
