The cancellation process is neither easy nor foolproof, and there have been complaints of ex-member credit cards being charged fees after membership expiry.

The lawsuit also alleges that the terms of the website do not adequately protect subscribers' interests. One of the policies retains claims to the subscriber's profile picture and information even after membership expiry. This means that True.com can sell or publish pictures and information belonging to members without informing or paying them at any point of time. This kind of policy may not be concurrent with individual privacy preferences.

Such alleged issues may not be limited to True.com alone. So, before subscribing to any dating website, it is better to play safe and check all the use and privacy legalities with a fine eye. Check it yourself if you are qualified, or get advice from someone who is. So yes, look for love online, but make sure your back is covered while you do it.
