The Non-Verbal Cues of DatingThose singles that have turned to online dating sites have often done so because of the largely ridiculous nature of randomly picking up strangers in bars. Reason scan be as diverse as the proliferation of truly terrible pickup lines to simply not enjoying hanging out in dimly lit bars until all hours of the night in hopes of meeting "the one." A recent poll conducted on what works when trying to meet women will likely reinforce that decision to use online dating. It seems that 84 percent of the women surveyed have been introduced to a man simply through his pelvis randomly rubbing up against the woman, otherwise known as grinding. While that figure may not surprise anyone given the kind of reputation men have for throwing subtlety out the window, the fact that 30 percent of all women that took the survey call grinding a viable pickup method. Yes, 30 percent of all women think that being randomly groped is akin to a good old-fashioned "hello." That's the kind of figure to make an upstanding man once again lament the way bars and clubs attempt to hook people up. Thankfully, online dating cures a lot of those woes, putting the emphasis on actual communication, flirting and conversation above randomly striking it rich by grinding on the right 30 percent of women in the club. While that approach may work for some men and is clearly welcomed by at least some women, the fact remains that most of us need a little extra chit chat before "grinding" commences. Of course the poll, which is admittedly not that rigorous given that 143 women were interviewed, also discovered that 3.5 percent of the women that responded said that grabbing of breasts is also a viable way to greet a woman. As the article rightfully points out, the trick is pin pointing just which women make up that 3.5 percent. Happy hunting.
