A Bedroom Full of Deal BreakersOnline dating is a great way to cut through a lot of the superficial fluff that can derail a relationship and get right to the heart of what someone is. Meeting other singles online can make finding out if you are compatible with someone a much simpler process, but there will of course come a time when that first in-person meeting will go down. Someone that might seem to dig you entirely at the restaurant may take one look at your place and decide otherwise. A bed filled with stuffed animals for a woman over 25 was one of the top responses, as was living with mom. Some interviewed in the piece proclaimed a hatred for a particular artist plastered around a home or an aversion to overhead lighting. The bottom line is that your home, for better or worse, greatly reflects who you are. If your room makes it look like you haven't grown up, your date will probably assume that to be the case. Detailing all of the reasons someone might not be enamored with your place is probably futile exercise, but you can certainly take some care in the way your home reflects who you are. Clean it up, make sure all of the embarrassing items are put away and at the very least take care of anything that might set off your date's olfactory meter. Don't let your home be the deciding factor of whether someone sees you again. Instead, leave that honor to yourself.
