Single Moms: Dating On A ScheduleDating is difficult enough with the awkwardness of the first date, the difficulty in meeting someone special and the unmitigated disaster some dates eventually turn into. However, dating with a young child at home can be even more difficult, adding an entirely new level of complication to the proceedings on top of a process that is already quite complicated on its own. As a recent article in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer goes into detail about, single moms who are dating have some special needs that some men are just not ready to handle. However, and the article rightly points this out, the issues that send some single men heading for the hills are misconceptions of what a single mom is or might want from a relationship. If a single mom came up to you and started hitting on you, what would be your first reaction? Sadly, the first reaction for some is to quickly assume that the women in question somehow did something wrong, ended up uneducated with a child at home and is simply too much work to be worth the trouble of dating. Obviously, that is a terrible generalization as the truth is that most single moms are hard working individuals that have busy lives it can sometimes be difficult to fit romance into. One of the ways that romance is being squeezed in is through online dating, some of which cater specifically to single moms and single men not threatened by the prospect of dating a woman with a child.
