Problems Know No Sexual OrientationIt should come as no surprise to anyone that gay and lesbian singles face similar types of trials and tribulations that their heterosexual counterparts also encounter. While some specific cases will obviously not apply to some, the basic ingredients of the relationship remain the same and can produce the same types of fights and reconciliations no matter the sexual orientation involved. The initial courtship might be a bit different from that of a heterosexual couple, but it is only common sense that the same types of issues plague both types of relationships. Some perceptions discussed in the article include the false assumption by some straight daters that it is more difficult for gay, lesbian and transsexuals singles to find dates. Those interviewed in the story make the reasonable claim that on a general level, sexual orientation matters little when it comes to the emotions people go through and the efforts they engage in when trying to meet someone. Online dating sites have shown this to be true as well, offering same-sex options with the same basic interface to accommodate daters regardless of their sexual orientation.
