It is a place where thousands of people attempt to reconnect with long-lost love and the chance encounters that they have failed to follow up. Why is classified ads website so popular? For one, Craigslist has a very wide reach, with presence in 450 cities across 50 countries. For another, it is the Internet, and in the Internet, people enjoy a semblance of anonymity. This online anonymity, in turn, gives them the courage to do things that they would be too shy to do in real life, such as asking for a total stranger's phone number. This does not mean that this free online service is a miracle worker. You could post and you could patiently wait for your match to respond to your post, but there is no assurance that there would be any responses at all. Nonetheless, it is still worth a shot, because your missed connection may know someone who would recognize him or her from your post, and thus set the wheels rolling.
