The Three Minute RomanceIt can be disheartening to look for love in all the wrong places. Online personals is fine for most, but others prefer the first meeting to be in the flesh. Other than going to the bars and clubs, the only other option is participating in singles events. You are given a score card so that you can keep track of those that make your heart race and those that are just duds. Some choose to attend on their own while others feel more comfortable going with one or more friends so as not to feel awkward. Even if you don't make a connection at a speed dating event, you have still opened yourself to a whole new world of matchmaking possibilities and for some, getting their feet wet is all they need in order to gain confidence to get back into the game. If you are under the assumption that the only people that are part of a speed dating event are losers, think about how you feel about yourself. Are you a loser, desperate or worse? You are ready to give it a try and others just like you will attend. So try it just once and see how much fun it can be. The worst thing that can happen is you have a few laughs and some great stories to share with your friends over cocktails in that singles bar you swore you'd never go to.
